How Is MY Mississippi Well Doing?

Posted by bernell on September 15, 2014

We are frequently asked about the current production on existing wells.

“How is MY well doing?” is more or less the gist of the question.

It is easier to simply answer the questioner than to explain how to get the answer, but I’m going to explain to you how to get the answer here for Mississippi wells and then do a separate post for Louisiana wells.

I do hope that anyone who has a simpler or better way to find “your” well will join in with your suggestions.  We welcome them.

For Mississippi wells, you can click on our “Home” page tab above (Upper left near top of page), then scroll down (on the right of computer screens) to

Useful Links:

                                - MS Oil and Gas Board – TMS Page

Then, click on the MS Oil and Gas Board – TMS Page link.

Once on that page, click on “TMS Oil Production vs Time”

An excel file will come up that shows production from all Mississippi wells and by company and by county and….well….the thing is done great.

But, if you can pull up this file, you can find “Your” well and study production to your heart’s content.

Now, if you want to go to a site just on your well, there is also a way to do that.

Go back to our Home Page, scroll down to the Useful Links, again, and click on the –MS Oil and Gas Board –TMS Page, again.

Once there, so down to the line that says “To search for a specific company's wells visit
HERE and click HERE for a How To Guide.”

Click on the first “HERE” then, when the MS Oil and Gas Board page pops up, type in the name of the operating company for your well, click on search results, then on the company name.  Then, scroll down to the bottom and click on “Wells”

Then, scroll down to your well and click on it.

All sorts of options will pop up, including, “Production”

Sound complicated…it will take you a couple of attempts, but you can get it to work and you can learn a LOT about your well when you do…it’s worth the time to learn, in my opinion.

What do you think about it?
