Encana & Sanchez units overlap - 6/24/14
There is an interesting situation that will be brought before the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board in July.
It seems that EnCana and Sanchez have both applied for units that overlap by 2/3rds. I won't confuse you with the facts, for now, in case these companies work things out before then.
But, in general, Sanchez has applied for a permit to form a unit that includes 3 sections...let's say Sections A, B and C. EnCana has likewise applied for a permit to form a unit that includes 3 sections...Sections B, C and D.
In other words, Sections B and C are included in both unit applications.
Should be interesting to see how this is resolved.
