Nabors Rig # B14 Moves on to Stewart/Bergold Site for Australis

Posted by bernell on September 22, 2018

Australis is making a rig change on the site of the Stewart 30H-1 and Bergold 29H-2 wells in the southeastern portion of Amite County, Mississippi, just a couple of miles southeast of Gillsburg, Mississippi.

Energy Drilling Company Rig #10 began leaving the site earlier this week and Nabors Rig # B 14, is moving on it now.  My guess is the Nabors rig will be up and going by early next week.

Energy Drilling Rig # 10 appears to have successfully drilled and cemented in the first 3,200 feet of Stewart 30H-1.  And, the original plan was for the Energy Drilling rig to next drill and cement the first 3,200 feet of Bergold 29H-2, then to move a few miles to the site of the Taylor 27H-1 and Williams 26H-2 wells and drill the 1st 3,200 feet of these wells, also.

However, it seems there were issues in drilling the Bergold 29H-2, including some tool fishing and an unsuccessful restart to the drilling process such that the first phase of the Bergold 29H-2 will be left to the Nabors Rig # 14.  It would appear the current plan is for the Nabors rig to drill the Taylor and Williams wells from start to finish, as well.

So, though drilling began on the Bergold 29H-2 on August 30, for all practical purposes the process will begin anew when the Nabors Rig # 14 is set up.

Not the start Australis was hoping for, of course, but not the end of the world, either.

Stay Tuned!
